Our CSR commitments
The Hotel Le Grand Monarque gives full meaning to sustainable hospitality through strong CSR commitments aimed at excellence, emblematic of the values of this centuries-old family house. It's a policy that has been in place for several years, and one that continues to develop, and one that guests can feel during their experience at Le Grand Monarque.
Our values? Authenticity, proximity, sincerity
Sustainable hospitality, a family spirit
A commitment which results in true actions within the hotel: paper and plastic ban from guest rooms, implementation of water and energy saving measures.
In 2020, Le Grand Monarque is amongst the very first hotels in France to be certified Clef Verte (Green Key), a virtuous approach demonstrating the sensitivity to both environment and nature.
"20 years ago, the hotel has become Ecocert certified and it is now "Clé Verte" certified. The restaurant has been awarded "Ecotables"".
Environment
In its restaurants, Le Grand Monarque is committed to work with local suppliers and to promote 100% French and seasonal products.
As reflected in the rich diversity of both the producers' menu and the wine list which highlights Loire wines grown with sustainable, organic or natural methods. In our restaurants, waste is reduced to its minimum in the various thanks to waste sorting and recycling. Chefs are committed to optimize the use of their produce and to limit waste to its minimum with, as an example, using vegetable skins for sauce bases.
Suppliers are selected accordingly by our inspired Chefs Thomas Parnaud at Le Grand Monarque and Benoit Cellot at Racines.
Surrounding wine-growing terroirs are showcased with our recently AIG 2022 awarded “France best sommelier”, Nicolas Duclos. “La Paulée”, a large-scale wine event organized with Olivier Poussier, has been its best example for almost forty years.
In this environmental approach that is Le Grand Monarque's identity, "La Framboisière", a new guest house in Sologne part of the "Maisons Blanches" collection, is presented as an authentic place, where we produce honey, fruit, vegetables and eggs.
Since 2020, the Grand Monarque has been supporting the "Grâce au Jardin" project, a community-based vegetable farm
which reflects the values of the house. These initiatives have been rewarded with 3 EcoTable macaroons, a label that identifies restaurants with sustainable practices, and an A rating on the resto score.
